Disney Rocket Game
DescriptionDisney Rocket game is a 1960's Japanese variation of Pachisi. The game board features 4 Walt Disney characters which players start by placing their tokens on. Players then move around the board by the roll of a dice in a clockwise direction and up a straight to reach their goal line. Variations to the traditional Parchisi are an added shortcut using a colored rocket and advantages of landing on a particular colored square. The game box shows Disney characters on a TWA rocket. Erik Voskull, in his book 'Before Mario',(2014) explains that Nintendo obtained a licence in 1959 to produce games featuring Walt Disney characters and themes. Also in the first half of the 1960s Nintendo introduced a cursive style logo as seen on the back of the playing board. This logo was used on Nintendo's earliest boardgames. —user summary Game DiscussionsAdd CommentYou need to be logged in to comment. Insert Bullet List Please enter at least one item.
