    Description

    The game is one of five in the War for Southern Independence Series. This is a simulation of the Southern campaign to retake Missouri: Elkhorn Tavern (also known as Pea Ridge)in April 1862. The game uses a a bombardment chart and a single d10 combat system with modifications for terrain and odds. Units are counters of infantry, cavalry, and artillery. The game is based on the old Civil War SPI quad system. The Series uses a set of standard rules and special rules that apply to each battle. Map scale varies from 176 to 450 yards depending on the game. Other games in the series are: Oak Hills, Fort Donelson, Iuka, and Prairie Grove.
