Le Manipulateur
DescriptionAbstract connection game played on a 17x17 board. Each player has a "Manipulator" piece which moves by making a rook move, then dropping a pawn on the square arrived on, then making a second rook move at right angles to the first. On a player's turn they either move their Manipulator in the manner described, or they capture one or more opposing pawns by making a jump or series of jumps with one of their own pawns in a manner similar to checkers. Pawns cannot move except to capture and the Manipulators cannot capture. A player wins when their pawns either form an unbroken chain from one side of the board to the other, or have trapped the opposing Manipulator so that it cannot move.
