Description

River of the Dead is a new type of product for Shadows of Brimstone called an Enemy Theme Pack, and this one is about the nefarious Cult of Horus and their devotion to finding and resurrecting the scattered relics and mummified remains of their ancient master, Khamuntet!. It's a great way to add a bunch of exciting new Enemies, cards, and Missions that are all themed for a specific World or faction in the game.

River of the Dead
The great god Osiris was lord of the dead, ruler of the afterlife, and master of resurrection. The fields would grow at his command and the souls of the dead would be judged in his name, worthy or unworthy to pass on into the afterlife. Killed by his jealous brother Set, Osiris’s body was cut into pieces and spread throughout the land, before being re-assembled and resurrected by the power of the goddess Isis, his wife.

It was in this tradition that the Arch-Villain Khamuntet, after finally being defeated millennia ago, was also cut into pieces and sealed away in the hidden tombs of his own dark sorcery, buried deep in the desert sands. Now the fanatical Cult of 'Horus, son of Osiris', seek to reassemble and resurrect Khamuntet in the same way, so he too may pass judgement on mankind, spreading Darkness across the land!

The River of the Dead Enemy Theme Pack comes with a horde of new Egyptian Enemies to challenge your Heroes, as well as new Cult of Horus themed Missions for the Lost Tombs, and over 40 new Game cards with assorted counters. You get 1 Priestess of Judgement, 3 Large Ushabti Warriors, 1 Large Ammut - Eater of the Unworthy, and 6 Osirian River Guards.

Priestess of Judgement
A powerful sorceress in the Cult of Horus, the Priestess of Judgement follows the sect of Osiris, charged with performing the sinister rituals and harnessing the dark magik that will re-forge and resurrect their master, Khamuntet! Possessing the Scales of Truth, her harsh judgements can bring death and destruction to anyone that stands in the way of their master’s glorious return, as she unleashes Ammut, devourer of the dead, on her foes.

Ushabti Warriors
Carved of stone and placed in burial chambers and tombs, Ushabti were created to be servants and minions of the dead. They come to life at the call of their master, taking up tools and weapons for the task in need. Though many are created as legions of small figurines, the most terrifying Ushabti Warriors are those sculpted at great size and adorned with hieroglyphics. Crafted in the likeness of Osiris, and armed with hefty Egyptian war axes, these stone warriors are formidable foes when called to war.

Ammut, Eater of the Unworthy
A monstrous creature that combines the front of a lion, hind-quarters of a hippopotamus, and the head of a vicious crocodile, Ammut is a divine beast that feeds on the hearts of those deemed unworthy. When the scales of judgement tip not in your favor, Ammut is ready to devour your soul!

Ammut is a nightmarish Large creature that ruthlessly hunts those found unworthy of joining the blessed dead in the afterlife.

Osirian River Guard
These skeletal warriors guard the River of the Dead. Armed with Dark Stone-tipped spears and heavy shields, they bear the ceremonial dress and armor of the Pharaohs. Nearly unstoppable in their ghastly resolve, they rise back up from the dead to fulfill their sacred duty and bring ruin on any that would defy the judgement of their master.
