The War of Cognac

Description

Between 1526 and 1530 a war broke out in Italy which involved the Peninsula from Calabria to Lombardy; often inserted as an “episode” of long Italian Wars of XVI century, the conflict comes also referred to as War of Cognac, from the name of the locality where the treaty of alliance and formed the League between Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan and France against the Emperor Charles V.

The conflict was the first real attempt at Italian independence, fought between Italians against Italians, due to the division in which it is he found the country and the mercenary it was rampant practice in those years.

The game is based on the Thirty Years War system published by GMT Games.

During every turn, players alternate in playing cards for action points or for event. Actions points are used to move armies, fight with enemy, siege a fortress, take control of areas.
Some areas are key area that gives the control player Victory Points. At the end of a scenario (smaller or campaign) the player who has the most VPs is the winner.
