    Description

Tricolor is a game of pure strategy. In the two person game each player has 18 stackable checkers in his color. If three people play, each one has 11 checkers. The counters are placed on the hexagonal board with fields in different colours. Different colours mean different "strength" for the checkers - the aim is to eliminate all opponents checkers from the board.

The game was invented by the famous Belgian mathematician Maurice Kraitchik who described it for the first time in his book La Mathématique des Jeux (Brussels 1930) on page VII-VIII (introduction) and 470-475 (rules, example games). It is one of the oldest stacking games (older are just Tower of Hanoi, Lasca and Bashni).
