Bill of Rights Round-Up
DescriptionThis game can be played cooperatively or competitively. Either way, the procedure is generally the same. The "Amendment" cards contain the text of the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution. These should be read aloud to the players beforehand to familiarize themselves with the purpose of each amendment. The "case" cards are shuffled and placed in a stack face-down on the board. Each Case card contains a dilemma relating to one of the amendments, and asks a question about the actions of the people described. Team/Player 1 draws the top card and reads the case to Team/Player 2. Team 2 answers either "Yes" or "No". Older children are encouraged to name the amendment referenced, and explain their answer based on its text. If their answer is correct, they place one of the provided horse tokens in their "corral" on the board. If their answer is incorrect, no token is awarded. Then Team 2 draws and reads a case card to Team 1, following the same procedure. The first Team to reach ten horse tokens is the winner. Cooperative play follows the same steps given above, with the Team/Player attempting to accumulate ten horse tokens. Game DiscussionsAdd CommentYou need to be logged in to comment.
